How much does it cost to get involved in Cub Scouts with Pack 345?
We try to keep the overall cost to get started as low as possible. Our annual membership fees are paid each November to cover the following calendar year. Currently our annual membership fees are $100/scout, covering:
- $72 BSA Membership Fee
- $12 Scout Life Magazine Subscription
- $2 Middle Tennessee Council Insurance Fee
- $14 to Offset Volunteer Membership Fees
In addition, families are responsible for “a la carte” events like camp outs and outings, and purchasing a handbook and Class A uniform for their scouts at one of the Middle Tennessee Council Scout Stores.
Where does everything go on the Class A uniform?
The best way to learn where patches and insignia should be placed on the Class A uniform is by reading through the Cub Scout Guide to Awards and Insignia.
What do we do in Cub Scouts?
Cub Scouts is all about having FUN while learning new skills that are centered around the core values of scouting found in the Scout Oath and Law and Outdoor Code.
About twice a month (once a month for Kindergarten age), scouts meet in their grade-specific groups called dens and work on Adventures that are required to earn their current rank.
Once a month, the dens come together as a Pack for Pack meetings which are often themed around one of the points of the scout law or seasonal themes. Every other month, we recognize scouts by handing out Adventure Loops and Pins that were earned in their den meetings.
You can learn more about the Cub Scouting Adventures at https://www.scouting.org/programs/cub-scouts/what-cub-scouts-earn/cub-scouting-adventures/.
How is the Pack funded?
Pack 345 is primarily funded through our annual Popcorn fundraiser. We ask that every scout do their best to help sell popcorn through Trails End each fall so that we can continue to keep the cost of scouting as affordable as possible.
